Escape Plan is a Chinese band which formed in 2007. Most their works fall into the category of indie pop. They joined the Chinese television series “Singer” 2019. “Ten Thousand times of Sadness” released in 2011.
【Appreciation】
This is a love song. However, I would like to interpret it as an inspirational song. “All my mind was about you” I focus on my goals; all I think is “how to achieve my goal”. It is not so easy though, I can’t help but do all I can do to keep closer to my dream. At the end of the day, I always asked myself, did I do my best or I wasted another day? Did I miss it? Could I still keep my hope for the future?
On the way to success, I would fail again and again. Maybe I will get hurt, maybe I will feel depress. I still keep my faith. “Ten thousand times of sadness” “I still have a dream” Although I have been beaten several times, felt so hurt and painful, I still have a dream. This is the power of belief. I always believe that there is a better life waiting for me in the future. The future me said “I’m waiting for you” to present me. I didn’t need to change my direction, just keep going.
Every time when the stress or sorrow or panic is overwhelming, the way I released this negative emotion is to turn them into tears. How a warm sentence that said,” Every drop of tear is ten thousand streaks of light.” It makes me feel that after crying, I have the power to fight for life again. And the power and the belief turn the darkest place into the brightest one. So, I won’t afraid of darkness anymore. Because that is the place where born the hope. “The warm tide “is the deepest motivation on the bottom of my heart. It drove me to the place of the dream (the ocean of yours).
All in all, although it is a love song, comprehend it as an inspirational one is more thoughtful for me. This is an interesting thing; everyone could explain the works in their own way. Nevertheless, no matter which way we choose, it won’t reduce the meaning of the song.
